Pickleball in Beatrice, Nebraska
Beatrice supports year-round pickleball unusually well for a city its size: six free lighted outdoor courts at Chautauqua Park, three affordable indoor courts at the City Auditorium, and two more indoor courts at the YMCA. The local association maintains a full week of open-gym access and a Monday skills session.

Beatrice City Auditorium
Address: 205 North 4th Street, Beatrice, NE 68310
The auditorium offers three indoor courts with temporary nets supplied. Open gym runs Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 6:00 p.m. Admission is $3 per day or $15 per month for Beatrice Pickleball Association members and $5 per day for nonmembers. Pickleball Lessons in Beatrice
Joni Bruhn leads drills with ERNE skills every Monday from noon to 1:00 p.m. at the City Auditorium. The session gives newer players a specific weekly place to work on mechanics before joining open games, and the same local contact coordinates weekend building access. The YMCA also periodically runs clinics and tournament preparation. Players seeking private instruction can use the Coaches section.
Open Play, Groups, and Tournaments
Beatrice players coordinate games through PlayTime Scheduler, covering Chautauqua Park, the auditorium, and the YMCA. The auditorium's daily open-gym blocks are the most reliable route into local play during winter. The Beatrice Mary Family YMCA and the community group also stage doubles tournaments, including benefit play at Chautauqua Park.
What Visiting Players Should Know
In fair weather, use the six permanent-net courts at Chautauqua Park; lights and late closing hours make evening games easy. For indoor drop-in play, the City Auditorium is more visitor-friendly than the members-first YMCA and costs $5 for a nonmember day. Auditorium players help roll nets into place and store them after the final session. Bring a paddle and balls, and use the east-side Fourth Street entrance on weekdays.
